Whitney Adams
Associate
Whitney focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense, and corporate internal investigations. She has experience representing clients in a variety of industries, including life sciences, financial services, information technology and services, and food and beverage manufacturing.
Whitney has substantial experience representing clients in civil litigation and government investigations in matters involving allegations of breach of contract, fraud, public corruption, trade secret theft, patent infringement, and employment discrimination. She has experience in all aspects of commercial litigation in state and federal courts, as well as in hearings before arbitration panels. In her practice, Whitney has conducted multiple sensitive internal investigations and has represented clients in federal grand jury investigations.
Before starting with the firm, Whitney worked with Mandel Legal Aid on a fellowship through the Public Interest Law Initiative. She assisted in representing children and young adults accused of delinquency and crime. Whitney also assisted in advocating for individuals sentenced as juveniles to life sentences to receive resentencing hearings.
Whitney most recently served as a law clerk to Hon. Virginia M. Kendall of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Whitney was recognized in the 2024 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® for Commercial Litigation. She was the Bernard Ramsey Honors Scholar and the recipient of the Gannett Foundation Dean’s Scholarship.

Education
Whitney received a B.A. in International Affairs and a B.B.A in Economics, with a minor in Spanish, summa cum laude, in May 2012. She received her J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School in June 2015, where she worked in the Criminal Juvenile Justice Project and was treasurer of the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Team.
